Division: Softball Rookie

Pitch Type: Tee & Coach Pitch

Little League Ages: 4-6

Players have fun and learn defense, fielding, and how to properly use a bat and glove. Players hit from a tee and coach pitch. The concept of making an out is introduced to help the players to better understand the basic rules of the game.

Parents are strongly encouraged to become involved in this level of Little League. After completing a Little League volunteer application and passing a required national background check, parents may become involved in practices, and be eligible as coaches, managers, umpires, local league board members and other volunteer positions within the league.

Division: Softball Coach Pitch

Pitch Type: Coach Pitch

Little League Ages: 6-8

Division: Softball Minors

Pitch Type: Player Pitch

Little League Ages: 9-10

Player evaluations are required at this level and teams are assigned via a player draft to assure fair and equitable teams. This is a competitive level of softball where players pitch the entire season. Umpires are introduced to the game and official Little League Softball rules are enforced (with a few minor modifications for pace of play), including use of 11" softball, walks, base stealing and bunting. Players will learn to slide safely and properly. 

Games are played on a 35/60 size field (35-foot pitching distance, 60-foot base paths). Scores and standings are kept.

After completing a Little League volunteer application and passing a required national background check, parents may become involved in practices, and be eligible as coaches, managers, umpires, local league board members and other volunteer positions within the league.

Division: Softball Majors

Pitch Type: Player Pitch

Little League Ages: 11-12

Player evaluations are required at this level and teams are assigned via a player draft to assure fair and equitable teams. This is a competitive level of softball where players pitch the entire season. The 12" softball is used.

Games are played on a 40/60 size field (40-foot pitching distance, 60-foot base paths). Scores and standings are kept.
